Casual sports clothing year-around during the day is suitable. A sweater or jacket is recommended for cool mornings and evenings, and especially for whale watching excursions on the ocean.

From the Los Angeles area, take the Interstate 5 Fwy. South and exit PCH (Pacific Coast Highway).
From the San Diego area, take the Interstate 5 Fwy. North, exit Beach Cities off ramp.
Both these exits will take you directly into Dana Point.
Take a left at the 2nd signal, Dana Point Harbor Drive, then follow the individual directions to the event or whale watching company of your choice.

pass is valid for systemwide travel from 7 p.m. Friday through
midnight on Sunday. Get your Weekend Pass at any Metrolink station
ticket vending machine. From the San Juan Capistrano Metrolink
station, just take OCTA Bus Route 91 South to Dana Point and your
there! Or you can ride your bike! Look for one of Metrolink's
special bicycle cars marked with large yellow "Bicycle Car" signs
and take your bike onboard. Ride Metrolink to the San Juan
Capistrano station and then hop on your bike and ride the bikeway to
Dana Point and the Festival. You'll find train and bus schedules at
