2012 Sponsor Information

Dear Potential 2012 Dana Point Festival of Whales Sponsor:

Dana Point will be celebrating the annual migration of the majestic California Gray Whale beginning this December, and offering the absolute best whale watching available in Southern California.  We invite you to join the celebration as an official sponsor and reach the nearly 100,000 visitors that come to Dana Point from around the globe to experience this very special annual event.

This year marks the 41st Annual Dana Point Festival of Whales celebration, and we have some outstanding sponsorship benefits to offer individuals, companies and corporations.  We have combined these benefits with publicity and social media programs that will afford our sponsors extensive coverage throughout Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties.  Additionally, at no cost to Festival sponsors, the Festival produces and distributes 1000 posters, 10,000 informational rack cards and 5,000 stickers that are used on all City of Dana Point, Chamber of Commerce and Festival mailings between January and March to raise awareness and build attendance.  The Festival also produces and distributes a 16-page official program to over 40,000 households in the surrounding area, as well as distribution of 10,000 programs during the two Festival weekends.  By popular demand, the Festival’s merchandise is sold throughout Dana Point Harbor beginning the first week of January, and this year will be sold online beginning December 1.  Please take a moment to review the levels of sponsorship and the many related benefits as well as our demographics, online press kit and extensive Calendar of Events at www.festivalofwhales.org.

Protection and preservation of ocean life and water quality issues continue to be brought to the forefront of our attention.  The Dana Point Festival of Whales not only entertains our visitors, but also enlightens them on environmental issues through the varied events the Festival has to offer, and the actual experience of whale watching.  By promoting individual, civic and corporate responsibility for keeping our oceans clean within a fun, festival atmosphere, we are confident that we will make a difference and spread this important message far beyond our own community.  Your sponsorship will inform, inspire, impact, and show your support for environmental concerns.  We invite you to play a major sponsorship role and help make this celebration an incredible toast to our coast while achieving your targeted marketing goals and objectives.

Our celebration of the California Gray Whale’s majestic migration begins in December with a myriad of events throughout the harbor, and of course the BEST whale watching in Southern California.  The celebration culminates with the two-weekend Festival on March 3 & 4 and 10 & 11.  The 41st anniversary of the Festival promises to be the best yet with many new events for the entire family!

We look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your marketing and public relations goals through our thorough and well-focused programs, or we can work with you on a customized marketing plan that delivers to your unique market.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions and comments – we’re anxious to have you as a partner!

Thank you for considering a sponsorship with the 2012 Dana Point Festival of Whales.
